Wings 2019 Training Camp Report: Day 5
WHAT HAPPENED
The Dallas Wings were back on the practice court today after the team’s first off day of 2019 Training Camp. Wasting no time, Coach Agler had the squad run 3-on-3 and 4-on-4 half court break downs. The group went through an offensive refresh, adding some new options, before moving to the other side of the ball and working on defensive concepts. The Wings finished the day with full court 5-on-5 against the practice squad. The team will have two more practices before leaving for the first preseason game of the season.
WHAT WAS SAID
“Our energy is unreal. The energy in this building is unreal. We’ve had some long days with meetings, but our energy has been unreal. Our focus throughout practice has been impeccable. We’re here from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m., that’s a long time to be on the court and focus, but we’ve done that. We’re supporting each other 100 percent and that’s been unreal to me.“ – Tayler Hill
“Feeling good. They got me running up and down, making sure I’m in shape, but it’s good. A lot of the young players are learning new things and we’re learning things from the draft picks and the younger players coming in. It’s good for us. Everyone has something to learn, wither we thought we did or not, and every day’s a new day.” – Glory Johnson
“Feeling really good. I feel that it’s good vibes here with this group. We all get along really well on and off the floor and we’re out here trying to make each other better. I think that’s what we need in preseason, to push each other and make each other better, so when it comes to game time we’re prepared for that and we can just go out and play. ” –
“I think the day off helped us. They were fresh and very enthusiastic. We tried to sharpen up on some of our execution today, did some things defensively and got up and down quite a bit. We’re still building, learning each other and understanding what the standards are, and need to be, for us to have a good team. ” – Head Coach Brian Agler
