WHAT WAS SAID
On how the first day of camp went…
“It was pretty good. I’m really excited. This group has a lot of good players and things we didn’t have last year so I’m looking forward to it.” -Arike Ogunbowale
“It was good getting back out there. I haven’t played with my team at all so it was good to be able to get some shots up and some reps in. There is a little bit of rust, but overall, it was a good first day. Everyone had a lot of energy and I’m excited to move forward.” -Moriah Jefferson
On today’s practice emphasis…
“Defense and knock it down. We have a lot of shooters, so everyone is knocking shots down and shooting it when we have open shots. Again, defense and getting stops and working with our speed because we’re really young. We’ve got young legs and youth so we’re ready to attack it.” -Arike Ogunbowale
“Defense. We want to make sure we can get defense and get out in transition so we did a lot of defense drills. The team looked good and I’m proud of our first day. We just need to build each day and keep getting better.” -Moriah Jefferson
Playing inside the “bubble”…
It’s a lot different, but it’s not bad. You have everything around you. You don’t have to hop in the car to go to practice or the training room. Everything is just a few minute walk and that’s good. Obviously you don’t, but they know this is our job, but I’m pretty comfortable right now. -Arike Ogunbowale
On what excites her on playing with this team…
“We’re so young. We have a lot of young guys and I think it’s going to be interesting to see how we grow together as a team and see that chemistry come. We have a motor so we’ll be able to keep pushing every game.” -Moriah Jefferson
