Wings Fall to Storm Despite Season Best Shooting
The Dallas Wings fell 95-81 to the Seattle Storm tonight despite shooting a season-high 53.4 percent from the floor and 23 points from rookie Arike Ogunbowale. The Wings also logged a 63.2 percent clip from the three-point line tonight, setting a new season-mark for the club. Ogunbowale has scored 20 or more four times this season, the most of any rookie this season and has led the team in scoring seven times.
Seattle got off to a blistering hot start, out scoring Dallas 33-13 in the first quarter including tallying a 11-0 run in the opening 10 minutes. The Wings came back to life in the second half as the offense would shoot 60 percent from the field and 81.9 percent from three, outmuscling the Storm 52-43 in the last two quarters, but a comeback would fall short despite cutting the Storm’s lead to just 10 point on two occasions.
Dallas is back in action Sunday, July 15 at 3 p.m. from College Park Center against the Chicago Sky for the Wing’s Christmas in July game.
