ARLINGTON, TX – The Dallas Wings tipoff their 2019 Training Camp schedule Sunday, May 5 with the team’s first practice of the season.
Coming off a playoff berth in 2018, the Wings welcomed Head Coach Brian Agler during the off season. Agler, who has more than 30 years of coaching experience, took home championships with the LA Sparks in 2016 and the Seattle Storm in 2010 and owns a 271-218 overall record as a WNBA head coach. The veteran coach brought eight-year WNBA vet Crystal Robinson as an assistant along with bringing back two-time WNBA champion Erin Phillips.
Off season player moves for the Wings included resigning Kayla Thornton, Glory Johnson and Cayla George. The team also signed Brooke McCarty-Williams and Nicole Seekamp to training camp deals. Through the 2019 WNBA Draft, Dallas acquired Arike Ogunbowale, Megan Gustafson, Kennedy Burke and Morgan Bertsch.
The Wings also made moves off the court by welcoming Texas Capital Bank as the team’s marquee jersey partner. The community efforts of the two organizations started last month with the revitalization of the Sarah Wilke Youth Center, part of the Wesley Rankin Community Center in West Dallas, and will continue with more community events throughout the season and partnership.
Dallas will have three preseason tune ups – May 13 against the Atlanta Dream, May 14 against the Connecticut Sun and will play at home in College Park Center May 19 against the Indiana Fever – before the regular season gets underway May 24 at the Dream.
