The Wings scoring brigade was led by Arike Ogunbowale, who extended her historic scoring streak with 24 points, stretching her games with at least 15 points to 18 games. It is also the 22nd time Ogunbowale has scored at least 20 points in her career, and the fourth time this season. She was joined by two of the Wings’ few veterans Kayla Thornton and Allisha Gray, who had 17 and 12 points, individually.
Thornton also dominated on the defensive end, helping hold rookie phenom Chennedy Carter to just 14 points on 5-14 from the floor. The UTEP product also added a steal to go alongside her career-high tying two blocks. Moriah Jefferson, Isabelle Harrison and Satou Sabally cleaned up the misses by racking up a combined 25 of the teams 39 rebounds, with Jefferson shattering her previous career high of six by grabbing 10 errant shots.

The Wings also shot well as a team, shooting 40 percent or better from both the field and the three-point line for the third time this year and a season-high 86.7 percent from the free throw line.
The Wings next take on the Phoenix Mercury (4-2) on Monday, August 10 at 6:00 p.m. CT on ESPN2.
