The Dallas Wings (7-12) vanquished the Washington Mystics (5-13) 101-94 Sunday afternoon behind a career high 39 points from MVP candidate and WNBA scoring leader Arike Ogunbowale.
Ogunbowale drained a three with 0.7 seconds left to force overtime and then went on to score nine of the teams 15 points in the overtime period, one shy of the franchise record. The team’s 15 overtime points are the most points in an overtime period since the team moved to Dallas. Rookie of the Year hopeful Satou Sabally contributed 19 points and six rebounds, marking the ninth time the Eugene Unicorn has led the team in rebounding the season. Sabally also has 10 double-digit scoring games on the year.
Most Improved Player of the Year contender Marina Mabrey dropped in 12 points, the ninth time she has scored at least 10 points this season and having done so in nine of the ten games she has played since moving into the starting lineup.
Dallas next faces the Seattle Strom (15-3) on Wednesday, September 9, on CBS Sports at 9 p.m. CT.
