Wings Take on Sun in Connecticut Sunday

The Dallas Wings (9-17) travel to the east coast for a Sunday afternoon matchup with the Connecticut Sun at Mohegan Sun Arena. The 2 p.m. CT tip will be streamed on WNBA League Pass.

The Wings saw history made the last time they were on the court as Allisha Gray crossed the 1,000 point threshold while dropping a career-high 22 points en route to a 83-77 win over the New York Liberty. The South Carolina product is the third player on the Wings roster to have scored 1,000 points in her career, joining Skylar Diggins-Smith and Glory Johnson. Gray’s performance including going 5-of-8 from the field, 3-of-6 from three, and 9-of-10 from the free throw line. She also logged three rebounds, a pair of steals and an assist.

Rookie of the Year hopeful Arike Ogunbowale joined in the excitement with another 20 point game, her fifth in the last 6 games. Her 21 point performance saw her go a perfect 8-of-8 from the charity stripe while also dishing out five assists. Her 16.3 points per game make her the highest scoring rookie and the seventh highest scorer in the league. She’s averaging a league best 23.0 points in the month of August and is shooting 45 percent from the field and 44.8 percent from the three-point line. She is also August’s leading free throw maker, averaging 5.8 makes a contest.
