The Wings are coming off a closely contested loss to the Las Vegas Aces at home in which Arike Ogunbowale dropped 24 points, the seventh time the WNBA’s leading rookie scorer has recorded 20 or more in a game this season. The rookie is the tenth leading scorer in the WNBA with 15.0 points per game and has the best scoring average for the month of August, 23.0 points per game. She was aided by Imani McGee-Stafford’s career-high five assists and Kaela Davis’s 13 points, tying her season high.
Dallas shot a season-high 53.45 percent from the field and a scorching 63.2 percent from beyond the arc in a loss to the Storm the last time the team visited the Emerald City. Glory Johnson netted 18 points and nine boards in 34 minutes played, all season highs and Ogunbowale once again led the Wings scoring effort with 23, along with Allisha Gray’s 14 and Kaela Davis’ 11. Dallas’ last trip to Seattle was one of four times this season that the Wings have had one player score 20 or more and three scorers net 10 or more.
