Wings Take Aces to Wire, Fall 75-70

The Dallas Wings (6-16) fell to the Las Vegas Aces (15-7) 75-70 tonight at College Park Center, giving the Aces their monies worth until the waning moments of the game.

Rookie of the Year Candidate Arike Ogunbowale was the Wings leading scorer for the twelfth time this season, and for the third straight game. She has now scored 20 or more in seven games this season. The Notre Dame product has now gathered the second most 20-point games in franchise history, passing Sandy Brondello’s six total games in 1998.

Kaela Davis logged 13 points, tying her season high, while Allisha Gray contributed 10 points. Gray has scored 10 or more in back-to-back games for the second time this season, the other set coming back in June against Indiana and Phoenix. The South Carolina product has scored 10 or more 10 times this season.

The Wings hit the road next week for a pair of away contests, the first coming at Seattle on August 8 and at Phoenix on August 10. The game against the Storm will be on ESPN3 and WNBA League Pass and the contest at the Mercury will be on WNBA League Pass.
