Arlington, Texas (August 24, 2022) – The Dallas Wings (1-2) lost to the Connecticut Sun (2-1), 73 – 58, at College Park Center, Wednesday evening.
The Wings attack was spearheaded by guard Marina Mabrey, who tallied 20 points for her ninth straight game in double-figures. She was joined by rookie Veronica Burton, who became the first rookie since the team moved to Dallas to record double-digit points in a playoff game, as she finished with 10. Dallas center Teaira McCowan led the rebounding effort, grabbing 12 boards, her second game in the playoffs with 10 or more rebounds and the most she has grabbed in a single game this postseason.
