The Dallas Wings (1-1) topped the New York Liberty (0-2) 93-80 Wednesday night. Arike Ogunbowale led the scoring effort for Dallas, pouring in 20 points to mark her fifteenth straight game of 15 points or more and her seventeenth double-figure scoring game. Wings newcomer Katie Lou Samuelson set a career-high mark with 12 points and Moriah Jefferson eclipsed double-digit scoring figures for the first time since Aug. 11, 2018 after contributing 13 points tonight.

The Wings were hot from behind the arc again, shooting 43.5 percent and draining 10 three-pointers. It was the first time since 2017 that the Wings have had back-to-back games with more than 10 makes from deep. It’s also the first time that the Wings have scored more than 90 points in back–to–back games since July 19-20 of 2018. The Wings have scored more than 90 points in the first two games of the season for the first time in franchise history and are doing so after not scoring more than 89 all last season.

Dallas spread the ball around against New York, handing out 18 helpers as a team and allowing five players to reach double digits. The revamped Wing’s offense is the fifth team in the WNBA to have at least five players score in double-digits during the 2020 season.
