The Dallas Wings (2-2) face the league leading Chicago Sky (3-1) Tuesday, August 4 at 5 p.m. CT on Fox Sports Southwest Plus. This will be the first matchup of the 2020 season between the two squads and Dallas newcomers Astou Ndour and Katie Lou Samuelson will get to see their previous team.
Arike Ogunbowale is leading the Wings in the scoring column and is currently the league’s fourth leading scorer, averaging 18.5 points per game. She’s collected 20 or more points in 15 of her last 18 games, has accumulated at least 15 points in her last 15 straight games and has logged 19 consecutive games with double-digit scoring figures. The Notre Dame product’s active streak of scoring 15 or more points is the most of any current WNBA player and it’s the longest such streak since Skylar Diggins-Smith did it back in 2014. Ogunbowale is also tied with Napheesa Collier for the second longest active steak of games with 10 or more points.
Ogunbowale isn’t the only Wings talent with something notable to mention either, Satou Sabally has the second longest active free-throw streak with 15 makes and the Wings’ No. 2 overall pick is leading all rookies in rebounds (8.0) and is the third leading rookie scorer (14.0). Head Coach Brian Agler has the second most wins all-time (281) and will move to second all-time with his next win and Kayla Thornton will appear in her 100th career game for Dallas next time out, the third most since the team came to DFW and will tie for twentieth in franchise history.
