The Dallas Wings (4-8) were downed 76-56 by the Indiana Fever (6-9) Friday night at College Park Center. Theresa Plaisance led the Wings with 15 points, tying with Arike Ogunbowale as the team’s leading scorer. Nine of Plaisance’s total points came from a season-high three makes from beyond the three-point line.
Ogunbowale, the WNBA’s Rookie of the Month for June, has eclipsed double-digit scoring figures in five straight games and in six of the last seven contests. She has also been the team’s leading scorer, or tied as such, five times this season. Plaisance scored the Wings’ first pair of baskets and was followed by four straight points from Allisha Gray to bring the Wings even with the Fever at 8-8. An Isabelle Harrison turnaround jumper gave the Wing’s a 10-8 lead. Dallas would hold control until the end of the first quarter before Indiana would take the lead and retain it for the rest of the game.
