Sky slip by Wings 82-79

The Dallas Wings (2-3) fell to the Chicago Sky (4-1) 82-79 Tuesday night.

Arike Ogunbowale once again led the Wings scoring effort, putting up 26 points to continue her streak of 15 or more points to 16 consecutive games. Tonight’s outing gives the Milwaukee native 21 games of 20 or more for her career, three of those coming this season. Wings veterans Allisha Gray tacked on 12 and Kayla Thornton netted 13 to round out the majority of the Wings scoring effort.

Rookies Satou Sabally and Bella Alarie also gave a stellar effort for the Wings. Sabally dropped 10 points, giving her five straight games with at least 10 points, and Alarie added four blocks and nine rebounds off the bench. Alarie leads all WNBA rookies with eight blocks in the first five games. The Princeton grad’s blocks are tied for second most in franchise history for a single game for a rookie.

The Wings next rise to take on the Connecticut Sun (0-4) on Thursday, August 6, on Fox Sports Southwest Plus at 7:00 p.m. CT.
