Ogunbowale’s Three Pushes Dallas Wings Past Indiana Fever In Preseason Debut

Arlington, TX (May 3, 2024) – Arike Ogunbowale buried the game-winning step-back three-pointer with three seconds left as the Dallas Wings edged the Indiana Fever 79-76 on Friday night at a sold-out College Park Center in Arlington, Texas. Ogunbowale finished with 19 points and three assists.

Ogunbowale’s game winner was set up by a clutch defensive stop made by Natasha Howard, who stuffed Indiana’s Caitlin Clark on the baseline as Clark attempted to break a 76-76 tie with 26.7 seconds left. Howard finished with 10 points and three blocks.

Making her WNBA debut, Wings rookie guard/forward Jaelyn Brown tied for the game high with 21 points. Brown was 7-of-15 from the field while adding five boards in just under 30 minutes of action. Teaira McCowan added eight points and a game-high 10 rebounds.

The Wings shot .397 from the field and .308 from three, overcoming an 11-point first-quarter deficit to score the victory in their lone preseason game of 2024.

Friday marked the much-anticipated debut of 2024 WNBA Draft No. 1 pick Caitlin Clark. Clark tied Brown for the game high with 21 points, making five three-pointers for the Fever.

Indiana shot .419 from the field but committed 14 turnovers that the Wings turned into 19 points.

The Dallas Wings tip off the regular season on May 15 at home against the Chicago Sky. Tipoff is slated for 7 p.m. CT with the game airing on Bally Sports Southwest Extra.
