Ogunbowale Ties Rookie Franchise 20-Point Game Record in Loss to Lynx

Dallas Wings (9-19) Rookie of the Year Candidate Arike Ogunbowale compiled her twelfth 20-point game tonight, tying the franchise record for 20-point games in a rookie season in an 86-70 loss to the Minnesota Lynx (14-15) at the Target Center. Ogunbowale’s 22 points mark her fifth consecutive game with 20 or more this season, the second most by a Dallas rookie and tied for fourth most by a rookie in WNBA history.

Allisha Gray was the Wings next leading scorer, logging 16 points, and she has eclipsed double-digit scoring figures in seven of her last eight outings. The South Carolina product also added four rebounds and a pair of assists. Ogunbowale and Gray have paired together as the Wings leading scorers in the last three consecutive games.

Kaela Davis added in 14 points, a new season high, for her sixth double-digit scoring game of the season. Rookie Kristine Anigwe scored her first points in a Wings jersey tonight, collecting seven points and five rebounds in a career-high 25 minutes played. Brooke McCarty-Williams also established a new career mark against the Lynx, corralling five total rebounds.

Dallas returns home to face the Atlanta Dream Sunday, August 25 for Breast Health Awareness Night at 3 p.m., presented by Baylor Scott & White Health. In conjunction with the night, the Dallas Wings are hosting an online auction that includes memorabilia from local professional sports teams, gift certificates, exclusive experiences, game-worn, autographed Wings Breast Health Awareness jerseys and more. All the proceeds raised will go directly to local non-profits that work with Breast Cancer patients and survivors. The first 5,000 fans will also receive a Breast Health Awareness rally towels.
