Kalani Brown Re-Signs With Dallas Wings

Arlington, TX (Feb. 1, 2024) – The Dallas Wings have re-signed Kalani Brown, the team announced today.

“We are excited to announce the signing of Kalani Brown to a multi-year agreement,” Wings President & CEO Greg Bibb stated. “Kalani had a great season last year and has established herself as one of the dominant post players in the WNBA. We recognize Kalani had a multitude of playing options and we are grateful she has decided to continue her career in Dallas as we pursue a WNBA Championship.”

Brown is coming off a career-highlighting season in 2023. Over 32 games, she posted career-best numbers in scoring (7.8 points per game), rebounding (4.5 rebounds per game), shooting (.629field goal percentage) and minutes played (16.4). The 6-7 center had three double-doubles, including the first of her career, and scored in double figures in 15 games.

“I am so excited to be returning and making Dallas home,” said Brown. I can’t wait to get back with my teammates and win a championship here in the future.”

Brown originally spent training camp with the Wings in 2023, and then signed a hardship exception contract on May 30 before being released on June 28. She was then signed by the Wings on June 29 under the League’s emergency salary cap hardship provision.

“We’re beyond ecstatic to welcome back Kalani Brown to our Dallas Wings family,” said Wings Head Coach Latricia Trammell. “Her return brings excitement, passion, and an undeniable skill that will continue to impact our team in a big way.”

Brown is a graduate of Baylor University, where she was the 2018 Big 12 Player of the Year, and a member of the 2019 National Championship squad. She was drafted seventh overall in the 2019 WNBA draft by the Los Angeles Sparks.
