Scoring Showdown
It’s another battle of the WNBA’s top two scorers this season when Arike Ogunbowale and the Wings visit A’ja Wilson and the Aces on Sunday. Ogunbowale is currently No. 2 in the league in scoring at 23.6 points per game, behind top-ranked Wilson at 26.9. The two scorers put on a show when they met a month ago, with Ogunbowale dropping 31 and Wilson going for 36. Ogunbowale continues to have the single highest scoring performance in the WNBA this season with her 40-point outing at Phoenix on May 25. Through 20 games this season, the four-time WNBA All-Star has eclipsed the 20-point mark 17 times and the 30-point threshold four times, including that first meeting of the season against the Aces on June 5.
O’s Impact
Odyssey Sims has played just five games with the Wings in 2024, but her impact has already been felt. Since her return to Dallas, the Wings have seen noticeable improvements in points per game, steals per game, turnovers per game, field goal percentage and three-point shooting. Dallas has had two of its three fewest turnover totals in games with the veteran point guard in the lineup, while half of the games this season that the Wings have scored at least 90 points have come with Sims on the floor. Dallas is 2-3 with her on the roster which included a notable win over Minnesota in her 2024 debut.
