Notable Storylines
Injuries Adding Up

The Dallas Wings received word of yet another injury to a key player when it was reported Wednesday that second-year forward Maddy Siegrist broke her finger in the first quarter of Monday night’s setback at the Minnesota Lynx. A timeline for her return has not yet been determined. Siegrist is in the midst of a breakout year and is a standout candidate for WNBA Most Improved Player honors after increasing her scoring average by 10.9 points from 2023 (3.7 ppg) to 14.6 in 2024. Siegrist is the latest in a long string of unfortunate injuries for the Wings this season, which also includes two-time WNBA All-Star Satou Sabally (18.6 ppg) who has yet to play a game this season; two-time All-Star Natasha Howard (15.0 ppg, 13.0 rpg), who was injured in the season opener and hasn’t played since; three-time All-Star Arike Ogunbowale, who missed Monday’s game at Minnesota; and rookie Jaelyn Brown, who scored 21 points in the preseason win over Indiana, and has appeared in just one game this season.

Total Team Effort

Arike Ogunbowale missed just the eighth game in her six-year career on Monday night, but her teammates stepped up in her place against the top team in the Western Conference standings. Sevgi Uzun had a banner night with career highs in points (17), field goals made (7), 3-pointers made (3), and blocks (1); Monique Billings was one assist shy of a triple-double which included a career-high nine assists; while Lou Lopez Senechal and Jacy Sheldon both tallied career bests in scoring.
