Dallas Wings Partner With Legacy Construction Solutions, Inc., Establish Fellowship Program

Arlington, TX (March 21, 2024) – The Dallas Wings announced a partnership with Legacy Construction Solutions Inc. on Thursday. Highlighting the partnership is the establishment of the Dallas Wings Fellowship Program, which will give Paul Quinn College students the opportunity to gain firsthand knowledge of working in sports.

Legacy Construction Solutions inc. was founded by Jeremis Smith and Marquez Haynes in May of 2019 in an effort to address the needs of quality yet affordable construction in the rapidly growing DFW area. From small home renovations to large-scale multifamily and commercial developments, Legacy Construction Solutions inc. has the team to bring your vision to life. What makes their company different from the competition is their commitment to community, attention to detail, and its creativity which allows it to deliver quality and affordability in any market. Legacy Construction Solutions inc. stands on its key core values: accountability, relationships, quality, and results.

Haynes is a former basketball standout at the University of Texas Arlington, setting numerous Maverick program records. Haynes’ jersey was retired during the 2021-22 season, and currently hangs in the rafters at College Park Center, where the Dallas Wings play their home games.

Smith graduated from Georgia Tech before embarking on an 11-year international professional basketball career. Smith married Camille Little, who graduated from the University of North Carolina and went on to enjoy a successful 13-year career in the WNBA, which included winning the 2010 WNBA Championship. The Smiths met while playing overseas in Israel after being introduced by former Tulsa Shock player Tiffany Jackson. Camille is currently the head women’s basketball coach at Paul Quinn College. The Smiths are longtime Dallas Wings season-ticket holders.

“With longstanding ties to the Dallas Wings, women’s basketball and the city of Arlington, the partnership with Legacy Construction Solutions inc. is a perfect fit,” said Dallas Wings Vice President of Corporate Sponsorships Amanda Fusci. “Legacy’s proven commitment to uplifting those in the community by creating opportunities for local students is commendable. We are excited to begin this partnership and develop the new Fellowship Program alongside Legacy Construction Solutions inc.

Legacy Construction Solutions inc. will be a founding partner of the Dallas Wings Fellowship Program, which will work with Paul Quinn College. The program is designed to give students real-life sports industry career experience, allowing them to explore different sectors of the business, network with sports professionals, and receive executive-level mentorship as they transition from college to their post graduate careers. Students will spend 14 weeks during the Dallas Wings season, gaining experience in such areas as corporate sponsorships, marketing and communications, social responsibility and community foundation, along with ticket sales and service.

“Empowering female college students with the chance to experience a fellowship program alongside a WNBA team is not just about opening doors; it’s about igniting dreams, shattering ceilings, and shaping futures,” said Brian E. Chesnut, Senior Vice President, Legacy Construction Solutions, Inc. Together, we’re championing equality on and off the court.”

Paul Quinn College is one of the most innovative colleges in America, aiming to challenge the status quo at every turn. Paul Quinn College was founded by the African Methodist Episcopal Church during a time when the fate of formerly enslaved people hung in the balance. Today, itswork is even more necessary than it was when they opened our doors in the basement of Metropolitan A.M.E. Church in Austin, Texas on April 4, 1872. Its mission is to create change agents for the global marketplace and eradicate intergenerational poverty. In an effort to do more than simply write about poverty, Paul Quinn College created the Urban Work College Model to provide its students the training and resources needed to pull themselves and their families out of poverty.

In addition to being a founding partner of the Dallas Wings Fellowship Program, Legacy Construction Solutions inc. will also be the presenting partner of an HBCU Night Networking Event ahead of the Dallas Wings Juneteenth game, along with Dallas Wings Legacy Features, which will highlight current team players and coaches.
