Dallas Wings Hire Pam Flenke as Vice President, Communications & Broadcasting

Arlington, TX (Jan. 16, 2024) – The Dallas Wings announced today the hiring of Pam Flenke as Vice President, Communications & Broadcasting. Flenke joins the Wings after more than 10 years at the Big East Conference, most recently serving as Associate Commissioner, Women’s Basketball Communications and Operations.

“Pam is one of the most well-respected communications professionals in women’s basketball,” said Amber Cox, Wings Chief Operating Officer. “Her work with the Big East Conference over the past decade has helped elevate team and player profiles, as well as create an unmatched student-athlete experience. I have no doubt that Pam’s experience and skillset will amplify the Wings’ efforts on and off the court in the Metroplex, as well as nationally and internationally.”

Flenke served as the primary communications contact for Big East women’s basketball since the 2013-14 season. She played a vital role in developing and sustaining the messaging and branding of what had been a newly reconfigured college athletics conference. Flenke was integral to the planning and execution of annual marquee events throughout her time with the conference, including the Big East Tournament, Big East Basketball Media Day, and Transition Game – a professional development weekend for women’s basketball student-athletes. She served as the primary contact to the NCAA Selection Committee, with the Big East coming off a year in which it saw five teams selected to the NCAA Tournament.

In addition to her responsibilities with local and national media, she played a pivotal role in the development of the national television schedule, which was among the most robust in women’s college basketball. During her tenure, the Big East Digital Network was established, with Flenke responsible for game scheduling and talent assignments across all sports. Prior to her time at the Big East, Flenke was the Assistant Director of Athletic Communications at Army West Point, working with the women’s basketball team, among other programs.

Flenke will begin her duties with the Wings on Tuesday, Jan. 30.
