Dallas Wings center Teaira McCowan has been named the WNBA Western Conference Player of the Month

Arlington, Texas (August 16, 2022) – Dallas Wings center Teaira McCowan has been named the WNBA Western Conference Player of the Month, the league announced today.

Earlier this month, McCowan was named the Western Conference Player of the Week for her efforts over the course of three games from August 2 to August 6, averaging 19.3 points, 14.0 rebounds and shooting 54.1% from the field, while also hitting 18-25 free throws (72.0 FT %) to lead Dallas to three victories. Against Las Vegas on August 4, McCowan led the Wings with 21 points and 16 rebounds. Her 10 offensive rebounds were the most in a single game since 2017, and she became the first player in franchise history to grab at least 10 offensive rebounds. McCowan recorded four double-doubles in her seven games in August, averaging 17.4 points and 11.6 rebounds and shooting 55% from the field.

McCowan is the first Wings player to be named Player of the Month since the franchise moved to Dallas.
