Arike Ogunbowale and Natasha Howard to Compete in November Exhibition, Training Camp with USA Basketball

ARLINGTON, Texas (October 26, 2023) – Dallas Wings guard Arike Ogunbowale and forward Natasha Howard will join the USA Basketball Women’s National Team for training camp in Atlanta from Nov. 7-9 and an exhibition game versus Duke University on Nov. 12. Ogunbowale and Howard join 15 fellow WNBA players. USA Basketball, which is in pursuit of its eighth consecutive Olympic gold medal, continues to evaluate the 2021-24 USA Women’s National Team player pool prior to naming a team for the 2024 Paris Olympics. USA Basketball will also compete in an exhibition game against the University of Tennessee on Nov. 5, a game in which Ogunbowale and Howard will not compete. Tickets for both games are on sale at USAB.com/tickets.

Ogunbowale and Howard have both played for USA Basketball previously, with Ogunbowale playing in six games in the 2019 FIBA Women’s AmeriCup and two games in the 2019 FIBA Women’s Olympic Pre-Qualifying Americas Tournament and Howard playing in two games of the 2022 FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup Qualifying Tournament.

2021-24 USA Basketball Women’s National Team head coach Cheryl Reeve (Minnesota Lynx) will coach the USA in both games and lead training camp. She will be assisted by Mike Thibault (Washington Mystics) and Curt Miller (Los Angeles Sparks).

Tanisha Wright (Atlanta Dream), who led the Dream to their first playoff appearance in five years this season, and Stephanie White (Connecticut Sun), the 2023 WNBA Coach of the Year, will serve as court coaches. Wright will coach in Knoxville, Tennessee, while White will be in Atlanta and Durham, North Carolina.

The Nov. 5 game versus Tennessee will be televised on SEC Network at 6 p.m. ET. The USA’s matchup with Duke on Nov. 12 will stream live on ACC Network Extra at Noon ET, with a tape-delayed presentation on ACC Network at 8 p.m. ET. All games are available on the ESPN App.

The Lady Vols have hosted USA Basketball three times, most recently as part of the 2007 College Tour that saw USA edge Tennessee 83-72 in Knoxville. The matchup between USA and Duke will be the second overall and first since 1999, when USA Basketball defeated the Blue Devils 71-45 in Durham.

As part of its Olympic preparation, USA Basketball will participate in the FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament in early February before hosting training camp during the NCAA Women’s Final Four™ in Cleveland. Details will be confirmed at a later date.
