Arlington, TX – In their final preseason game, the Dallas Wings shined bright, defeating the Indiana Fever 80-75.
After being down by nine in the first half, Skylar Diggins-Smith turned up the heat in the third quarter, scoring five unanswered points to bring the game within one (44-45). With 1:19 left in the third quarter, the Wings took command, when rookie Kaela Davis went up and scored a reverse layup to put the team up by one (55-54).
Davis led the team for the night scoring 14 points, going 6-for-6 behind the line. Skylar Diggins-Smith and Karima Christmas-Kelly also scored double figures. Diggins-Smith ended the night with 13, leading the team in assists with five, while Christmas-Kelly recorded 10 points.
Courtney Paris registered nine rebounds, leading the team in boards.
The Wings will wrap up training camp before tipping off the regular season on the road against the Phoenix Mercury on May 14. They will open at home on May 20, when they take on the Minnesota Lynx. Tickets are still available for purchase at www.dallaswings.com.
