Dallas Post Game Quotes
Dallas Wings Head Coach Fred Williams
On the overall performance of his team…
“Minnesota played well, shot well and did a lot of the things they needed to do out on the floor. To start I think our energy level was low. I shouldn’t say a little, I would say a lot. Our shots wouldn’t go down for us early and Minnesota was able to establish that nice running game and transition game on us. Then we played catch up the rest of the way.”

On Minnesota’s transition defense…
“All of their team. They have size, they have speed, they have the veterans. They’re savvy out there. All of them were on cylinders out there tonight. I told my team that they are coming off of a loss and they will be coming out hungry at home. They came out hungry and got after us.”

On coming off of a back-to-back games…
“It’s real tough. It’s real tough when you got young players. Going up against a championship team and a veteran team like Minnesota, you just have to bare down that they miss a few from the outside and we make a few. Tonight wasn’t our night to make jump shots.”

Dallas Wings Erin Phillips
On coming off of a back-to-back with young a team…
“It’s pretty much a hostile environment to play in front of them. They have a great fanbase and makes for every team that comes in here a tough opponent. It’s tough to come off of a back-to-back you know we are pretty deflated losing in overtime last night and just you know couldn’t bounce back in just under 24 hours.”

On Minnesota’s tough defense to offense tonight…
“I think it was just us with lack of discipline on transition defense tonight. Too many run-outs and just beating us with pure energy and will to beat us down the floor. Some of that is fatigue and some of that is digging deep and getting back on defense.”

Dallas Wings Aerial Powers
On the mentality when shots aren’t falling…
“I think it would be mentally hard for anyone. No matter if it is NBA, college or anybody. I think it is mentally hard for anyone to do when all of their shots are going in and your playing hard defense and making them force tough shots when they’re hitting them. Mentally it was a little hard tonight.”

On coming into a back-to-back as a rookie in the league…
“It’s tough I mean because of the travel. We fought hard and did our best. They came out on fire. Their percentage was through the roof to start at halftime. It’s kind of hard to stop that.”
