Wings Unable to Calm The Storm

Arlington, TX – The Wings started their two-game road stint, with their first stop in Seattle, to face the Storm, falling to a score of 109-93.

The Wings found themselves down by as much as 19 points, and fought back in the fourth quarter, to cut the lead by nine, by a driving bank jump shot by Skylar Diggins-Smith, but the Storm came back to the take control of the game.

Dallas ended the night shooting hot behind the free throw line going 19-for-22 with an .864 percentage. Allisha Gray and Kayla Thornton led the way going 6-for-6 (Gray) and 5-for-5 (Thornton). Diggins-Smith also shot perfect from the line going 2-for-2.

Four Wings players ended the night in double figures, with Diggins-Smith leading all scorers with 18 points, while Glory Johnson recorded 16, leading the team in total rebounds with eight. Allisha Gray scored 15, while leading the team in steals with three. Off the bench Kayla Thornton came in to record 10, with five of the points coming from behind the line.

The Wings will continue their west coast trip and face the Los Angeles Sparks on Sunday. Tip-off is scheduled for 4 pm CT. The team will return to play at College Park Center on August 4, when they host the Storm. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 pm.
