Dallas Wings General Manager Greg Bibb and Head Coach Fred Williams have finalized the team’s roster for the 2016 regular season, which begins Saturday, May 14 in Indiana against the Fever at 6:00 pm ET.
The roster features 10 veteran players, including 2014 WNBA Most Improved Player, Skylar Diggins and hometown star Odyssey Sims, along with Plenette Pierson, Erin Phillips, Karima Christmas and Courtney Paris. This group is joined by Brianna Kiesel, Jordan Hooper, Theresa Pleasance and Glory Johnson. The addition of 2016 first-round pick Aerial Powers and second-round pick Ruth Hamblin round out the Wings roster.
“I like the 12 players that we have selected for the season,” said Head Coach Fred Williams. “This roster has a lot of size and depth to execute our goal for the season, which is to compete towards the playoffs and a championship. We had a successful off season by bringing in Erin Phillips. Our draft selections were exactly what we were aiming for with the talent of Aerial Powers, and the size and strength of Ruth Hamblin. It’s was good to see Skylar and Odyssey working out hard at training camp, and with Courtney Paris and Karima Christmas back from overseas, we know that our roster is now complete.”
