Dallas Wings Head Coach, Fred Williams
(On tonight’s game)
“Washington hit a lot of open shots. I thought they executed getting to the rim and kicking out for shots. They shot the three well. We just have to pick it up a little more on the defensive end.”

(On Glory Johnson’s return)
“I thought for her first game back, she was aggressive on the boards defensively and offensively. She helped stabilize our bench scoring. It’s a good sign to have a player like her back on the roster, to help with the scoring.
“I didn’t expect a lot of minutes. She got Pierson’s minutes with her being out. Glory is in great shape. She has been practicing with us all along. She can play a 25-35 minute ballgame. She has kind of exploded and shown that today. Her energy level and excitement being on the floor; she really has to maintain that more and have more balance. I thought she played well.”

(On stopping a losing streak)
“We just need to play well. Washington just beat Atlanta in Atlanta. They got some players back with Ivory Latta and Ruffin-Pratt. I knew they would come in here and have shooters, and that’s what they did tonight. They shot the ball well from outside.”

Dallas Wings Players Quotes
Wings Forward Glory Johnson

(On her first game back)
“It feels great to be back. Just being with my teammates and having the opportunity to play on the home court and feel all the energy from the fans is great. It’s always great playing the in the College Park Center with my teammates. It’s a whole new feel for everything and I’m excited to be back.
“I don’t think there was too much rust. I still practice with my teammates every day. It’s just being in the game atmosphere that rushes the nerves. Hopefully I got it out this game. There were a couple terrible shots that I shot, but my teammates kept talking to me and they kept telling me to push and make plays.”

(On staying focused)
“My teammates talked to me. When you’re playing as hard as you can play and you’re getting called for technical fouls, it’s very frustrating. My teammates talked to me and calmed me down and told me to focus on the next play.”

Wings Forward Aerial Powers
(On tonight’s game)
“I’m just sad about losing. We’re in a losing streak right now and to be on one at home kind of sucks. I’m just thinking about what we need to do to get back on a winning streak.”

(On Glory Johnson’s return)
“It felt good to see here out there. You could tell it helped our team tremendously, especially with our rebounding and running the floor. I’m happy to have her back and it’s going to be good when she starts going.”
