PHOENIX, AZ- The Dallas Wings ended their two-game road trip tonight with a 107-65 loss to the Phoenix Mercury. They are now 2-2 for the season.
The Wings took command early in the first quarter when Theresa Plaisance hit the three to give them a 5-0 lead. The team led by as much as three, until Diana Taurasi hit a jump shot with 4:23 left in the first to give the Mercury a one point lead and advantage to take over the game.
Dallas finished the night shooting 70.4 percent from the line going 19-for-27. The team recorded a total of 34 rebounds and six block shots. The blocked shots are a new season high. Skylar Diggins-Smith ended the night recording half of the blocks, with three.
Two Dallas Wings scored double figures for the night. Glory Johnson led the way with 12 points, while Karima Christmas-Kelly scored 11. Johnson also registered four boards and is eight away from scoring her 1000th career rebound.
Kayla Thornton and Allisha Gray were the top rebounders for the night with six boards each. Gray, along with Kaela Davis and Diggins-Smith rounded out the night scoring eight points, while Thornton recorded seven.
