Wings Fall 80-63 In Final Game For 2016

Indianapolis, IN– It was a milestone afternoon, as the Wings took on Tamika Catchings and the Indiana Fever, falling by a score of 80-63 in their final game of the 2016 regular season.

In the first of half of the game, there were five lead changes, with Wings and Fever going back and forth with leads. The Wings led by as much as four points until the Fever caught up and took command, heading into the locker with a 45-26 lead.

Karima Christmas led the way scoring 12 points. She went 7-for-8 at the free throw line and also registered five rebounds. Plenette Pierson returned after being out for the past two games with an ankle injury. She scored nine points, including shooting perfect three-for-three from the free throw line.

The Wings ended the regular season celebrating and honoring one of the best players in the WNBA, Tamika Catchings, as she played her final regular season game for her career. Earlier in the afternoon, the entire team honored Catchings with an autographed Dallas Wings 2016 jersey as a thank you.

Dallas will return next summer for their second season in the DFW area.
