Rookie Leads Wings to Victory Over Indiana

ARLINGTON, TX. –  The Wings improved to 6-3 at home and 9-8 overall with a 90-63 win over the Indiana Fever behind a season-high 49 bench points led by rookie Azurá Stevens who scored a career-high 26 points on 8-for-16 from the field.

The Wings quickly took a 10-2 lead, but the Fever used their own 8-2 run to pull within two points midway through the first quarter. Stevens scored the final six points of the quarter to give the Wings a 20-14 lead after the opening period.

Stevens continued to find her groove in the second quarter, scoring five more points for a team-high 11 at the half as the Wings took a 44-32 lead into the locker room. Liz Cambage, Skylar Diggins-Smith and Kaela Davis each recorded six first-half points.

The Wings extended their lead in the third quarter, outscoring the Fever 25-15 to take a 69-47 lead into the final period.

Stevens continued to dominate in the fourth quarter, recording a career-high in points while adding six rebounds to lead the Wings to a 90-63 victory. Cambage scored 17 points and added nine rebounds, while Glory Johnson scored nine points and grabbed 11 boards. Aerial Powers scored 11 points off the bench for the Wings. Diggins-Smith finished with eight points and seven assists.

The Wings travel to New York for a July 8 contest against the Liberty before heading home July 10 for a matchup with the Phoenix Mercury.
