Kayla Thornton has been named Dallas Wings Overseas Player of the Week for the week of November 8-14, after an outstanding performance this past week with team S-Birds out of South Korea.
Thornton scored two 20-point plus games to help the S-Birds to a 1-1 record for the week. On Nov 8, she recorded 22 points with eight total rebounds. On Nov 10, she recorded her best performance so far this season, leading the S-Birds to victory, with 29 points and 14 rebounds. It also gave her the WKBL (Women’s Korean Basketball League) Player of the Week honor.
Currently, Thornton leads the league in scoring, averaging 24.67 per game. Up next for the S-Birds is Woori Bank. They will play on Nov. 19.
