Kayla Thornton has been named Dallas Wings Overseas Player of the Week for the second week in a row for her outstanding performance the week of Feb. 14-Feb. 20. This is the sixth time she has been tabbed the award this overseas season.
Thornton recorded 22 points and seven rebounds with 27 minutes played last Sunday (Feb. 18). She shot 50 percent from the field going 6-for-12 and 80 percent behind the line.
Overall, Thornton remains as one of the top three players in the WKBL, averaging 17.8 points per game and 1.9 steals per game. She and the S-Birds return to action tonight, when they go up against KB Stars. They currently hold a 16-15 record with four games remaining in the season.
