Uncasville, CT – Glory Johnson recorded her 12th double-double of the season with 20 points and 12 rebounds, as the Wings battled in a close matchup with the Connecticut Sun, falling 96-88. The Wings and Sun are now tied 1-1 in the 2017 series.
Johnson hit the mark in the second half of the game. It was also the fourth consecutive game for her to record a double-double.
Allisha Gray also had a career breaking night, sinking in 21 points, to beat her career high of 20 that she recorded earlier this year. Gray went 7-for-13 from the field and 5-for-6 from the line.
In a battle to the finish, the Wings stayed up with the Sun throughout the game, tying the game eight times, and taking the lead at one point in the fourth quarter. The team shot a season high behind the line ending the night with a .962 percentage with Skylar Diggins-Smith leading the way shooting a perfect 100% going 10-for-10. Johnson, along with Aerial Powers and rookie Kaela Davis all went perfect behind the line, with Johnson and Davis going 4-for-4 and Powers 2-for-2.
