Preview: Dallas Wings Open the 2016 Season On the Road

The Journey Begins….

After a finishing the 2015 season, by making the WNBA playoffs and a successful off season, with the acquisition of Erin Phillips and selection of Aerial Powers and Ruth Hamblin in the WNBA draft, the Dallas Wings embark on their 2016 journey on the road with talent, strength and depth.

Matchup vs. The Fever
Tonight’s game marks the 44th time that the Wings and Fever will play against each other in regular season play. Overall the Wings trail in the series with a 19-25 record, but lead in the playoff series at 6-2.

The Final Roster Is Set
The Wings finalized their 12 on May 11, with the trade of Amanda Zahui B. to New York, for the Liberty’s first round pick for the 2017 WNBA draft. The roster features 10 veteran players, including 2014 WNBA Most Improved Player, Skylar Diggins and hometown star Odyssey Sims, along with Plenette Pierson, Erin Phillips, Karima Christmas and Courtney Paris. This group is joined by Brianna Kiesel, Jordan Hooper, Theresa Pleasance and Glory Johnson. The addition of 2016 first round pick Aerial Powers and second-round pick Ruth Hamblin round out the Wings roster.
