Arlington, TX – The Dallas Wings will travel south to face the San Antonio Stars. It will mark as the second consecutive game against their western conference opponent in back-to-back games.
The Wings recorded their sixth win at home against San Antonio. They will head south, to face San Antonio again to round out their 2017 series.
The team won its second consecutive game against San Antonio, Wednesday afternoon, 81-78. It is the first time this season the team has recorded back-to-back wins. Glory Johnson led all scorers and rebounders recording her sixth double-double of the season with 25 points and 10 rebounds.
On their home court, the Wings are 3-4 with big wins over the Fever, Sparks and Stars. Against the Fever on 5/30 the Wings took their first win of the 2017 season at College Park Center 89-62. It was the Wings largest margin of victory of 27 points with an 89-62 win. Karima Christmas-Kelly led the team tonight in points, breaking a career and season high with 27. She scored 19 points in the first-half to break the high. Christmas-Kelly went 10-for-14 from the field. It was also the third straight game this season she has scored double figured. The 10 field goals made also marked as a career high. At home the Wings are averaging 87.0 points per game.
ON THE ROAD
Overall the team is 3-4, with wins in Phoenix on 5/14, San Antonio on 5/25, and Washington on 6/18. In the seven games played, the team is averaging 82.1 points per game.
AGAINST THE WEST
The Wings are currently 4-4 against western conference opponents this season. When playing the west at home they are 2-2, with a big victory over the Los Angeles Sparks on 6/9.
