Dallas Wings Fall To New York Liberty

NEW YORK- In a game that was close to the finish led by Skylar Diggins-Smith 19 points, the Dallas Wings fell to the New York Liberty 93-89 inside Madison Square Garden.

After being down by as much as nine in the fourth quarter, Dallas came back to pull within two, 89-87, when Kaela Davis hit a floating jump shot and got the foul, sealing the 3-point play and closing the Liberty’s lead by a basket.

At the half, the Wings found themselves up by five, and came back strong in the second half, with Theresa Plaisance carrying the team scoring 11 points. It was the most points scored by the forward this season in a half. Plaisance ended the night with 18, a new season high.

Four Wings recorded double figures for the third straight game this season. Joining Diggins-Smith and Plaisance in double figures were Allisha Gray who scored 15 points and Karima Christmas-Kelly with 12. Christmas-Kelly also recorded nine boards, which led the team for the night.

The Wings end their back-to-back road trip in Indiana when they go up against the Fever tomorrow night for a 6 p.m. CST tip-off. The team returns home on June 6 to start a three-game home series, which will entail games against Washington, Los Angeles and Minnesota.
