ARLINGTON, TX – The Dallas Wings have announced the 2017 TV broadcast schedule on FOX Sports Southwest. All Wings home games will be seen throughout North Texas, Oklahoma and portions of Arkansas, and Louisiana. Games will be televised on either FOX Sports Southwest or FOX Sports Southwest Plus.
“FOX Sports Southwest has set the standard in regional sports television and we are thrilled to have them as part of our broadcasting team. The expanded coverage will offer WNBA fans across a four-state region access to Dallas Wings basketball, making sure we broaden the reach of our brand and provide greater visibility for our athletes. Airing our games on FOX Sports Southwest will also deliver a richer viewing experience for our fans.” said Nicole Smith, Dallas Wings, CMO.
FOX Sports is scheduled to televise 15 of the 17 home games, the most ever in Wings history. Three games are set to be shown on FSSW, 10 on FSSW Plus and two on tape delay that will be scheduled at later dates. Two games are slated for national broadcast as part of national television packages the Women’s National Basketball Association’s has with ESPN.
“This expanded coverage is a terrific addition to our organization,” commented Greg Bibb, President and CEO of the Dallas Wings. “I commend Nicole and her team for shepherding this with our colleagues at FOX Sports Southwest. Our players are excited and they know joining forces with a premiere sports broadcasting network known for high-quality production means Dallas Wings basketball will be delivered to more fans this season than ever. And, from a business perspective, it means we can drive greater value to our growing roster of corporate partners wanting to present their brands and messages to a regional audience who love sports and admire the athleticism, skills and finesse of women’s professional basketball.”
Regular-season coverage of FOX Sports Southwest begins on Saturday, May 20 at 7 p.m. CT with the home opener against the Minnesota Lynx. Coverage will include pre-game interviews and in depth looks on the Wings for the 2017 season.
