ARLINGTON, TX. – Liz Cambage dominated the Chicago Sky, scoring a career-high 37 points and recording her 10th double-double of the season to lead the Wings to a 108-85 win and improve their record to 8-8 including 5-3 at home.
The Wings used a 7-0 run to close out the first quarter and take a 28-26 advantage into the second behind Liz Cambage’s 14 points on 6-for-8 from the field and four rebounds.
Cambage continued to dominate in the second quarter, scoring seven more points for a total of 21 in the first half. Her 21 first-half points were the most she has ever scored in a single half in her career. She helped give the Wings a 51-49 lead at the break. Glory Johnson added nine points in her first start since returning from injury.
The Wings took off in the third quarter, outscoring the Sky 32-19 to take an 83-68 lead into the final period. Skylar Diggins-Smith scored 18 points in the third quarter after not scoring at all in the first half. Her 18 third-quarter points are the most she has ever scored in a single quarter. Cambage broke her previous career high of 28 midway through the third quarter.
The Wings went on to cruise to a 108-85 win over the Sky. The 108 points were the most the Wings have scored in a single game this season, and their 57 percent from the field was the highest for the Wings this year. The Wings dominated the paint, scoring a season high 62 points down low.
Cambage led the way with her career night, while Diggins-Smith scored 20 points on 8-for-12 from the field. Azurá Stevens added 12 points on 5-for-6 shooting and four rebounds. Allisha Gray added 10 points, five assists and four rebounds.
The Sky were led by Diamond DeShields, who scored 20 points on 7-for-13 from the field.
The Wings wrap-up their three-game homestand against the Indiana Fever on July 5 before heading to New York for a tilt against the Liberty on July 8.
